Dark days fill some people's mind Faith, Hope, Strength to them are hard to find
All they seem to do is sit and cry To some they really do not understand why.
A smile they put on their face In hopes to cover up their misery But they find themselves back
in a dark place Where each and every day remains
only to be a
race.

They pretend everything is really okay Because they don't want
others to know
something is wrong; They take each day in stride hoping it'll
go away But in the back of their mind they feel as if
they don't
belong.
The pain they feel begins to be to much to bare Causing some to
no longer really care Their pain they do not want to share Because their
loved ones they do not want to scare.

They pray to the Lord in hopes He will be able to help them to cope
They know they need help but refuse to go Because their problems they do not want to show
For some they take their own life Because they no longer can handle the strife They think they would be
better off if their life ended this way, Because a prisoner within no longer
they will stay.

Let them know Lord you are there Show them how much you truly care Dry away their tears they shed each day Touch their souls so
their pain will go away
Let them know Lord they too are loved So they do not feel as if they are alone
Touch their hearts Lord from above Let them know they do not have to
fear the unknown.

Let them feel your presence so they can see Their sadness can truly be set free Let them know
by their side is where you will be And that you do hear their every
plea
They need to know everything will be alright No longer do they have to put up a fight
Because with You in their life each and every day Your love will forever show them the way

A prisoner within no longer will they be For it is Your love they will see Happiness is what
their hearts will contain Knowing without a doubt by their side You will remain.

I dedicate 'Prisoner Within' to those who battle with
depression. We all experience times in life when we feel
down or frustrated, but what I have come to learn is
"you can not allow your
circumstance to control your emotions because it drains you physically,
emotionally and spiritually."
If we remain in a state of disappointment for too
long, it can turn into discouragement, despair and finally
depression.
Psalm 30:5 says.....Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.
Things make us sad "temporarily" but we must not "stay" sad.
To some this is so hard for them to do and in times such
as this pray to the Lord to heal your heavy heart, to give rest to your mind. Just remember,
you are not alone and God does love YOU. Let your heart be filled with Hope, Faith, Strength and
Happiness. God wants you to be an overcomer and have Victory over Depression.
