Tonight the old man is walking by himself alone
Remembering a time seemingly light years ago;
Back in another time long since gone
When time seemed to move slow.

A time when he had a loving wife
Many friends and a happy home;
Until his continuous selfish ways
Ran his loved ones away leaving him alone.

Remembering those days brings tears to his eyes
Sadly no friends or loved ones will be near
To comfort him while he cries;
He's always alone with his tears.

Sadly he realized much too late
Some mistakes can never be erased;
Like the ones he made that sealed his fate,
Those footsteps he made can never be retraced.
