Death knock not upon my door
but pass me silently.
The timeís not right for me to go,
for God to set me free.

I have many things left
yet to do before I take my place.
Never do I want to meet my Lord,
with sin upon my face

Give me time to fill the place
thatís not entirely clean.
Thereís a spot within my heart
that should remain unseen.

I ask for just a little while,
of death Iím not afraid.
Though I do not face it with
the grace, our dear Lord once paid.

I wish to love my enemy,
no doubt a hard thing to do.
But with just a little help
from God I know Iíll make it through.

When I enter heavenís gate
Iíll be welcomed and have no regret.
But I know I need a little time
Iím not ready yet.

Come back to take me home
when I have put my sin away.
Thereís still one thing I have done
for which I need to pay.

So death knock not upon my door
but pass me silently.
The timeís not right for me to go,
for God to set me free.
